In this hard fought lawsuit against Zijo J. Metovic, the ARDC charged a lawyer with a number of instances of professional misconduct, including forging two client engagement letters.
In support of the claim, the ARDC retained a document examiner. The respondent retained his own examiner. The experts billed their clients thousands of dollars.
The ARDC found it suspicious that Metovic was unable to produce the original signed engagement letter. Instead, he produced a copy. The ARDC asked for the computer on which the engagement letter was prepared, but Metovic testified that he no longer had the computer.
