Lawyer Sues the ARDC For Copyright Infringement – With Predictable Results

Denison v. Larkin, Dist. Court, ND Illinois 2014 – Google Scholar:

The ARDC filed a disciplinary claim against Joanne M. Denison in which it alleged that she made false statements about judicial officers in her blog.  Denison, who is defending those proceedings before the ARDC, filed a copyright infringement action against the ARDC for copying the portions of her blog posts and using those posts in a judicial proceeding.

The District Court rejected all of the claims and concluded that the fair use doctrine bars any claim for copyright infringement.

Once again, by posting this entry, I take no position on whether the charges against Ms. Denison are valid or not valid, true or not true.
