This is a complaint filed by the ARDC against a lawyer, Ernest Koehler. It alleges that he made two errors in attempting to collect legal fees. First, he filed a lawsuit against a client and attempted to collect fees that had been discharged in a client’s bankruptcy. Second, it alleges that the lawyer entered into an improper business transaction with the client by loaning the client $13,000. The lawyer failed to advise the client to obtain her own lawyer in connection with that transaction.
Again, these allegations have not been proven.
